Musings for the day

I'm often filled with a sense of unexplainable nostalgia when I read through friends' blogs. Reading them makes me feel closer to them, more involved in their lives though we are some many miles apart now...but it also makes me kind of sad since it feels like I'm watching their lives from behind this window screen, sharing their every emotion but not actually participating. It's like we're in two separate worlds, even though the main gap/difference between our lives now is really only the space between us...I realised how we're all experiencing pretty similar dilemmas and situations at times, so alike that I sometimes actually forget that I'm in a foreign land, expected to go through a different set of experience(but again, I've never actually studied in any of the local unis, so who is to say whether it is similar or different from what I'm doing now...?)It's easy to get used to independence after a while, to start dealing with and enjoying the fact that you are managing your own life as well as you can... but you can never run away from the feeling of wanting to be close to something safe and familiar, to be with your family and friends on the land that you were born and raised...

And on a separate note, another decision that I'll have to make soon I think...will it be the Halls again or Broadgate? Most probably not Dunkirk in any case... ...
