Tuesdays with Morrie...
Finished writing an earlier post, but it got lost so here it is Again...arrgh..can't believe I had to retype all tt...well,that's technology for you...
" So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep,even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things..."
Finally managed to get my hands on Tuesdays with Morrie...had a pretty good read on the coach, when the only scenery outside the window is a blanket of darkness and the only noise around is that of the whirring engine and heavy breathing of some fellow passengers..haha...and some guy talking on his mobile phone throughout the entire journey..anyway, found it ironic how it had to take a man who was teetering on the brinks of life-and-death to realise and teach a healthy man what a meaningful existence truly means...several quote-worthy life's lessons can be found in the book, and after not having read a proper storybook (this is a non-fiction account though..)for a lonnng while( no time!! ), it was refreshing to read Tuesdays with Morrie and think about the lessons it preaches..
Mitch: Have you ever really had a teacher? One who saw you as a raw but precious thing, a jewel that, with wisdom, could be polished to a proud shine?
" Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you're bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted."

"learn how to die and you learn how to live"
I guess that's the same idea as "living each day as if it was your last"...only when one sees how dangerously close he/she is to losing something/someone will he/she realise that which truly matters.
