About Christmas

In a christmasy mood suddenly...must be due to the christmas carol playing softly in the background now...some friends had already gone home for the hols, one week in advance...more will be leaving soon, and most of those who're going back this hols would be home by the beginning of the week after the next. Though I've never celebrated christmas in the traditionally-cosy-looking British style before, I've always liked the feeling of the festive season...maybe this year I'll even get to experience a little bit of the kind of Yuletide that'd always only belonged to the pages of childhood storybooks and my dreamy imagination...

Christmas Is Remembering
The road to Santa Claus,
The blessed time of childhood
That meant so much. . . because
It held the tinseled magic
Of fairyland array,
When all the world was laughter. . .
And life was only play.
Christmas is remembering. . .
A tree ablaze with light,
The family gathered closely
And knowing deep delight.
Exchanging gifts and sharing,
The gaiety and song
That star the festive season. . .
Each time it comes along.
Christmas is remembering. . .
Our friends who're far and near,
By giving and receiving. . .
A season always dear.
The mistletoe and holly,
As scarlet tapers glow,
The Christ Child in a manger. . .
So very long ago.

Happy holidays to One and All...
