It's kind of intimidating walking about here on your own in the dusk as an international student. Upon learning about the taunting my friend experienced recently, I gave an involuntary shudder thinking about the few close personal encounters I've had with racism in this country...Was informed about the existence of racism here before I came, but when everything appeared fine at the beginning, I began to disregard it... until I realised that it's not the uni students, who, in my opinion, are more mature and accepting, but the young and impressionable teenagers out there that are the most frightful and daunting.

Not all new experiences are nice, but they sure let you grow more with each encounter.
