It's a little sad how it had to take the deaths of two great public figures, and through the subsequent media hype, to make me more aware of what they had done. And upon reading about the life stories of the Pope and home ex-president Dr. Wee, I became more acutely aware of the fact that there's so much things a person can do, and contribute towards society, in one's life. No life is inevitably self-contained, ordinary and bland if one chooses not to let it be so. And I have also come to realise just how much more things out there there are for me to discover, to learn, and be thus humbled by.

I want to hold on to the unassuming quality for as long as I can.
