Noticed after tonight's post-dinner dish washing banter that some (+ve) changes are obviously made only after I had left the security of home behind. Because it is only when you are far away from your usual comfort zone, from people who will 'kindly' shelter you from the raw elements in the Big Bad World out there that you can truly begin to mature from experiences. You really have to be cruel to be kind at times I suppose. For it is only in times when you are not able to turn to a friendly face and seek (false) assurance after your ego is bruised that you learn to nurse that bruise on your own, and hopefully emerge stronger for that.

Never mind that some 'truth' hurts, and that some words seem to momentarily cut you open... once the bruises fade away and wounds heal, you'll find that that's just one way this school of hard knocks educate you. How else could a lesson make enough impact for its teachings to be picked up so quickly?
