While walking back from the sports centre after another badminton session yesterday evening, z and I got talking about home again. She said something like: "It's that time of the year again. When looking back, it feels like you've been here for soso long already...so long that you begin to forget how home looks like anymore once again."

I was just doing my own stuff, not thinking about home particularly a while ago when the conversation came back to me again. Certainly I remember quite clearly how home looks like, even without the photos on my desk to serve as constant reminders. However, it's the feel of being at home that is somewhat more difficult to capture now. Nine months or so abroad and you get accustomed to another kind of lifestyle, only to have to readjust to what you've grown up with again during the remaining three short months when you're back in the familiar, yet no-longer identical environment.

About 2-and-a-half more months to go. After more than half a year here since the last departure from Changi Airport, that feeling of so-near-yet-so-far's back again.

I know what you mean actually. So I hope that by reminding myself how appreciative I am of these things now, I'll continue to be appreciative of them in the future to come as well. Maybe right now when you feel averse to anything you used to miss, you just tell yourself again how much you used to crave for these when they were absent from your life. Perhaps then it'll be better...
