Never judge a show by its average reviews, or you may well miss out on some gems amongst the rocks. Ok, I can't say what the 'average review' for Ally McBeal is, because I have not really noticed this show till now. In fact, I have always perceived it to be in the same genre as that of 'Friends'...but no. Not really. Comedy-wise, yar...it can get rather ridiculous at times. But deep beneath the comical facade, it is actually nourishing 'chicken soup for the soul'- as my flatmate-supplier of the show puts it.

So much of life's truths put across in a most open and frank manner. It is captivating because it spells out some very thought-provoking lessons about life- relationships, emotions, predicaments, ethics, beliefs...etc. Some of these issues and thoughts we each harbour deep within yet give little considerations to usually. By explictly articulating them, the characters in the show challenge the viewers to really think about their own attitudes towards these issues in life.

Watch it if you can. It's good entertainment, and yummy food for thoughts too.
